Very nice link you gave me... I had already entered on Flash Game License before, but never seen this statistics page...

Do you use Flash Game License to sell your games? Do you recommend it?
I have got no idea what sponsors use this tool...

Thnx =)

Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch. I'm afraid I'm knee deep in a big game project right now so unavailable for contract work. For future reference though you can get in touch with me at hello@flashgamemaker.com

thanks.

Phil, are you busy? I need a simple "Colorforms" flash app written. A simple pick a background and drop / arrange items from a palette on it, commands to save, print, download image of final product (with a logo of course). I am using a blog reply since I didn't see another way to get in touch.

Hi,

Glad you like the blog! :)

This might be useful for you..

http://www.flashgamelicense.com/blog/2010/01/looking-back-at-2009-trends-and-statistics/

It's possible to make a lot of money with Flash games, but most games don't make that much. What's as important as what your game is, is WHERE your game goes, i'e what site it goes on. On one site your game could make a nice amount of money and the same game on another site with the same amount of traffic won't make the same amount, so if you are thinking about making games, think about what kinds of games 1) You want to make 2) Are capable of making and lastly what website do you want to put your game on and therefore is your game suited to that site?

Hey guy!

I make games as a hobbie, but actually I never finished one as it was just for fun...
I'm thinking now about starting making games to earn money, and I have no idea how much can be a sponsorship. Can you give me values? Arround U$ 1.000~2.000?

I loved Conecto 3, I must say. That's a very original and addicting game, how much did you earn with it?

I'm very afraid of spending more on the development than I'll recieve after.

Thnx a lot, and congratulations for this awesome blog =)

Hey Fiona, Thanks for the comment on CC. A great resource for beginners and more advanced game developers would be

http://www.emanueleferonato.com/

And the forums over at mochi have lots of basic information on development and trying to sell your game once it's done.

When you have a situation where lots of money can be made from having specialist knowledge, then that knowledge is going to be highly guarded :)....having said that, there are some guides around, but I think unfortunately unless you can pay someone lots to do a Facebook game for you, it's going to be a case of getting stuck in and trial and error.

I've been researching this topic today -- Facebook Flash Games. What I can't understand is that there's so many Facebook Flash Games out there, used by so many people, but so few tutorials discussing how to make them. Are all the Flash Facebook games out there being built by a small group of people?

Also the "downloads" stats for the Facebook ActionScript library are really low -- only 2000 in over a month, which is about 90 per day. For such an important tool this doesn't seem like high figures.

Am I missing something here?
